pinwheel quilt
Wow it's finally done! Here is the pinwheel quilt I made following a quilt along at www.psiquilts.com. I used Moda fabric called Hunky Dory in turquoise, golds, pinks and greens. It took one layer cake and one charm pack to do the pinwheel border. I can make pinwheel's in my sleep now. I LOVE THIS QUILT!!!

What I've been doing lately...
I've been making pillows! It's a birthday pillow for all my family this year. The letters are done by Machine applique using Sassy font from Five Star Fonts.

We spent a great weekend enjoying the new grandson and his big sisters. Mommy and I created a baby sling for her to carry Ollie in. It is made of a faux suede with a really soft lambswool looking side. I got it at Walmart for about $12.00 a yard. They had tan, pink and blue. Here's a few pix as well as a block for Ollie's new quilt. I'll post it when I get it done

IT'S A BOY!!!!
We finally got our first grandson and he's a keeper! Mom and baby are doing well, Dad survived and both sisters are on cloud 9. Of course I had to do a little sewing for this newest and most special member of the family. I broke the speed limit getting from the living room to the sewing room and WALLA!
Being in a pinch for time I just used a varigated thread and surged around the edges of some flannel to make receiving blankets and burp rags.
Sprinkler Covers are the best invention ever! If you'd like the design go to http://www.embroiderygarden.com/
When the little guy gets his diaper changed just popone of these on him and the walls are safe....they work, we tried them.
Don't you just love the butterfly bear on this little gown. It's blue so it's for a boy right?

We're getting a new little man in our life in the next few days or sooner if his mom has anything to say about it and while I was watching his big sisters today I had the urge to make something new. I found a design I wanted to try, it's a freebie from Anna Bove so I knew it would stitch out great! I like the way it turned out and wanted to share it with my one follower who is from Enterprise, Yea! I'd love to meet you and see your great stamping and scrapping stuff. I'm also working on organizing the sewing room, I've taken before pictures and the after pix are on the way...be on the lookout, it's pretty awesome if I do say so myself! It's a great time to sew with all the snow we are having these days. I hope tomorrow will be even more creative....

My first blog
Hello and welcome to my first blog. I love to sew, machine embroider, tole paint and create all kinds of dust collectors for my home and those of my friends and children. My husband is just as creative as you will see. My most favorite thing in the whole wide world is my grandkids who are beautiful, talented and smarter than they should be. I think as my first official posting I will show you some pictures of my quilts, my grand girls and a pattern for a diaper bag that I made up for my daughter (Erin) who is expecting our first grand boy any day. It turned out pretty well I think. I live in the great state of Utah with clear blue skies, wild life all around and lots of trees. I have a beautiful drive to my day job where I dodge mule deer, wild turkeys, coyotes, racoons, eagles, big crows, you name it. It's a little cool here right now and we have a little snow but it's been a mild winter so far. I think we will survive till spring. Well I better get started so I can get to the sewing room....

- I'm the proud grand mother of 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson. I have been sewing since I was about 8 years old. I love to machine quilt my quilts and my friends quilts. I love nothing more than to be in my sewing room creating something for a family member and imagining how much they will love it.
